Vail Ranch Property Management, Named for the Valley's Founding Cattle Ranch

The neighborhood's name comes directly from the Vail Ranch, a cattle operation the Vail family began assembling in the Temecula Valley in the early 1900s and grew to more than 87,500 acres by 1947. In 1948 the family built a dam across Temecula Creek to create Vail Lake, and the ranch remained the valley's economic center through the mid-1960s before it was sold in 1964 to the Kaiser-Aetna partnership. The Little Temecula History Museum, run by the Temecula Valley Historical Society, now sits adjacent to the original Vail Ranch buildings on Temecula Parkway, preserving that history near the neighborhood that carries the ranch's name.

The residential Vail Ranch neighborhood itself sits off Redhawk Parkway and Temecula Parkway, built out predominantly with Spanish-style single-family homes after the mid-1990s. Vail Ranch Middle School, established in July 1994, serves the surrounding southeastern Temecula area directly, giving family tenants a school within the neighborhood itself. Because Vail Ranch borders Redhawk and sits close to both The Promenade mall and Old Town Temecula, owners here are competing for tenants who want an established, centrally located community, and Gibraltar prices and markets each property with that positioning in mind.
